Hey Digital Diplomats!
Let’s reconsider what it means to export and the false assumptions stopping you from expanding globally. After traveling back and forth to Africa over the past few years and attending high-level events such as the US-Africa Business Summit in Mozambique last year June, I’ve noticed a trend. And that is, there aren’t a lot of entrepreneurs who look like me or are as young as me engaging in these global export conversations.
Now, this is just my personal observation. I have to do more detailed research to back this up with statistics, but it feels real to me. In fact, among all the digital entrepreneurs that I know of personally or have connections to through other people, I don’t hear anyone speaking about export strategies. That’s why I am here.
My initial focus was helping African-based businesses build online and increase their international exports, something my business partner Naomi and I have been doing over the past few years. However, I quickly realized there is a gap here on the state side for entrepreneurs in our communities.
Did you believe any of these false assumptions before watching this video? If so, let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
